Job Summary

This safety critical position is responsible for providing technical and functional expertise and leadership in process safety for the entity. Additionally, this position will support the implementation and sustainment of SOI&E processes that are aligned with Husky's Operational Integrity Management System (HOIMS). Position will help to assure compliance to regulatory standards and statutes for key aspects of SOI&E specific to the operations of the assigned entity. This position will partner with the entity to promote a High Reliability Organization with a focus on continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain periodic unit operations risk analysis process to ensure health and effectiveness of associated risk prevention barriers. Process should include major hazard identification, evaluation of risk and barriers for effectiveness, and assurance of ongoing maintenance of top risk register (asset level) through regularly occurring risk analysis processes (PHA, bowties, MAH, etc).

  • Assure strong usage of MOC and PSSR system to capture all changes to equipment, personnel, and procedures, whether permanent or temporary. Assurance activities to include proper closure and execution of corresponding actions. Serve as MOC process owner or support entity based process owner by educating and coaching users, MOC coordinators and site population on the system.

    Support asset with LOD 2 activities This includes but is not limited to:

    • Element 2 Process safety training and competency organizational needs are identified and organization is up to date on training.
    • Element 3 Unit Operation Risk Analyses are employed and effective
    • Element 4 - Presence and availability of unit process safety information is appropriate
    • Element 5 - Procedures are written in accordance with identified risks and safety information
    • Element 12 - day to day process safety risk in daily operations planning and non-standard operations is planned for, ensure SOL excursions are identified and investigated by the appropriate personnel, and Alarms/interlocks are analyzed for risk in case of bypass with appropriate mitigating precautions followed
    • Coach & mentor asset leadership and personnel within each entity on process safety topics (PHA, MOC, bowties, MAH, Industry and Husky standards, etc) with training and education and daily interactions.
  • Fostering collaboration between the Deployed SOI&E team and the Central SOI&E Team, leveraging the Technical Authorities and multi-disciplinary support as a conduit for communication and continuous improvement.
  • Support the proper classification and investigation of process safety incidents. This includes coaching and mentoring site leadership to own and drive the actions to prevent re-occurrence.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 yrs. experience in a SOI&E environment
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. experience with Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigations
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. working knowledge of performing safety audits and inspections
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. working knowledge of SAP or other Enterprise software
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. experience working with 3rd party consultants and contractors
  • Minimum 3-5 years process engineering, process safety engineering, operations, or operations management experience
  • Minimum 10 yrs. Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements in and oil and gas environment

Education & Professional Designations

  • HS diploma or equivalent is required
  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required
  • Professional Engineer is an asset
  • Process Safety Professional Certification (CCPS, Mary Kay O Connor Process Safety Center or similar 3rd party firm) is an asset
  • HAZOP and/or LOPA certification is an asset
  • Process Safety Auditing certification is an asset

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
